SAN JUAN, MM—The NCAA decided to call off its scheduled collegiate basketball game between Jose Rizal University and San Beda as stormy weather outside the FilOil Centre caused raindrops to leak through the arena's roof.
Play was stopped with 5:25 remaining in the first quarter, with the Heavy Bombers leading 9-3, as the referees noticed a raindrop leak near the Red Lions' basket.
The game officials waited for 30 minutes before ultimately postponing the showdown.
The game, the first of two meetings between JRU and San Beda, will be replayed at a later date.
Meanwhile, as the weather eventually improved here, the NCAA decided to push through with the nightcap between San Sebastian and Letran.
