PASIG—After four seasons full of heartbreaks, Aurora Gaming Philippines' light finally shone brightly in MPL Philippines.
In its fifth season in the premier esports league since joining in 2024, Aurora PH clinched its first title, beating Team Falcons Philippines 4-2 in front of a sold-out crowd of nearly 7,000 people at the PhilSports Arena on Sunday night.
The deciding moment came in Games 4 and 5 when Aurora PH, down 1-2 in the seven-setter, brought back the ultimate bonding experience by drafting Estes.
The bigger surprise came in Game 4 when Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo picked Estes in the middle lane, catching Falcons PH off guard with a dominant performance to tie the match.
Aurora PH then went the traditional route in Game 5, giving the healing hero to roamer Dylan "Light" Catipon, and although Falcons PH had its moments, Aurora PH prevailed in the fast-paced offense to go 3-2 up.
The end came when Aurora PH totally dominated Falcons PH in Game 6.
Dominic "Domeng" Del Mundo was named Finals MVP.
Both teams will see action in the M8 World Championship in January in Istanbul.
