A hard foul by NLEX Road Warrior Enrico Villanueva on Rain Or Shine Elastopainter Ryan Araña triggered a bench-clearing incident early into both teams' preseason match at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.
According to multiple reports, Arana drove hard to the basket when Villanueva fouled him hard on the face, leading to a bloodied nose.
Araña then threw the ball at Villanueva and punched him too.
The other players of both teams also got involved in the melee, which was cut short after cooler heads prevailed.
Villanueva and Araña eventually got reconciled thanks to Elastopainters coach Yeng Guiao.
The game, however, was called off with ROS up, 23-20.
The Commissioner's office is expected to hand out its sanctions on the players involved in the bench-clearing incident following their visit to the said office to tell their side of the story.
