Barako Bull finally pushed through with the Dennis Miranda-Sol Mercado trade, although Miranda will now end up at GlobalPort.
Commissioner Chito Salud approved the 1-on-1 trade a month after turning down the first version of the swap.
The Miranda-Mercado trade was supposed to take place when Mercado was still with San Miguel.
However, Salud decided to drop the trade he earlier approved because he found the other part of the trade package, a swap between Dorian Peña and Justin Chua, imbalanced.
Salud later approved another deal that sent Mercado to GlobalPort for Alex Cabagnot.
In his only game in his Batang Pier return, Mercado normed nine points as they got eliminated by the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the first round of the Philippine Cup playoffs.
Miranda also had nine points in his last game for the Energy, a 76-105 loss to the Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters also in the first round of the playoffs.
Miranda averaged 13.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists overall with Barako in the Philippine Cup.
