A DAY after Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Ariadna Gutierrez as Miss Universe but corrected it and later crowned Pia Wurtzbach the rightful winner, the Houston Rockets' mascots, Clutch and Mini Clutch, poked fun at the incident.
During the break before the start of the second quarter of the match between the Rockets and the Charlotte Hornets at the Toyota Center on Tuesday (Philippine Time), the bear-themed mascots reenacted the said moment as they vied for the "Mascot of the Universe" award.
The courtside barker, playing as Harvey, "wrongly" announced Clutch as winner but later admitted the mistake and later crowned Mini Clutch as the Mascot of the Universe.
But unlike Gutierrez, who gamely accepted her fate, Clutch did not like the correction and charged to the announcer for an explanation.
Clutch did not let Mini Clutch get his crown, and the latter answered with a kick to the groin, drawing laughs from the crowd.
Houston eventually downed Charlotte, 102-95.
