MANILA--Renowned player agent Sheryl Reyes clarified online reports about the status of San Miguel import AZ Reid.
In a statement posted on her Facebook account on Wednesday, Reyes said, "Whatever article that came out about Arizona Reid being fired is false. He was honest enough telling the management and coach (Leo Austria) that the pain caused by his tendinitis is serious and he can't play today or unsure when he can so he said that he can be sent home."
Her statement came at the heels of reports claiming that Reid was given the pink slip by the Beermen's management.
Reid actually exploded for 41 points for them in their last game, a stunning 92-98 loss to the GlobalPort Batang Pier on Friday night.

Reid then revealed that pain is lingering on his Achilles tendon and that he may sit out a few games while also admitting he got upset to his team for the poor defensive effort against the guard combo of Terrence Romeo , Joseph Yeo, and Stanley Pringle, whose own outburst in the game earned him Player of the Week honors.
Meanwhile, Reyes confirmed that SMB will field in a replacement American import as well as an Asian import, but according to her, "They are expected to arrive this Friday and AZ was advised to stay and heal up since he got hurt playing."
The said development implies that the Beermen will be playing all-Filipino against the Alaska Aces in the rematch of their finals series later Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
To further prove that Reid was not fired, Reyes said, "AZ will be at the game supporting his team tonight."
