MANILA--UV completed the cast for the Milo BEST Center-SBP National Championship after beating St. La Salle, 47-46, in the Visayas Regional Final at the Capiz Gym in Roxas City.
The Baby Lancers survived a nail-biter against the Baby Stingers to earn the right to join the La Salle Greenhills Greenies, Berkeley, and Xavier University in the national finals in Bacolod.
However, Tay Tung prevented UV from sweeping the SBP-Passerelle tournament by winning the Passerelle final, 56-52.
The Thunderbolts' win, which put them alongside the Adamson Baby Falcons, HCDC, and ISBB, assured that the host city for the national finals would be represented.
In the battles for third, CDLPC gave the Capiz Gym crowd something to cheer about after beating Hua Siong, 52-48, in the SBP Division, while St. Roberts trounced Hercor, 72-63, in the Passerelle Division.
