PASAY--Coach Pido Jarencio took responsibility for GlobalPort's endgame collapse against Magnolia on Tuesday night in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Up by 20 in the first quarter, the Batang Pier already bubbled their lead by the third quarter, and eventually, they lost, leading to their elimination due to their once-to-beat, twice-to-win handicap.

"Di ko nahanda nang maayos yung team namin. It's all my fault. Ako lahat yun. Siguro may mga shortcomings," said Jarencio after the game.
In spite of the implosion that was somehow highlighted by his mini scuffle with Terrence Romeo, something that they downplayed, Jarencio still lauded his players for the effort.
"Kahit papaano, lumaban [sila]. Yan ang gusto ko naman eh. Basta lumaban," he further said. "Andyan tayo up to the end."
Despite ending up "bitin" in the first conference, Jarencio expressed optimism for his squad.
"Darating din yan na happy ending lahat as long as yung mga players namin are working hard, nakikinig, sumusunod," he quipped. "Pagka ganyan yung team namin, mag-i-improve at mag-i-improve yan."
