CAPAS--The Bases Conversion and Development Authority and AlloyMtd Philippines assured everyone that the construction of the New Clark City athletic field will be finished in time for the 2019 SEA Games as it officially poured in concrete on the said area on Wednesday.
POC secretary-general and Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee director general Pato Gregorio, AlloyMtd Philippines president Patrick David, BCDA vice president for business development and PHISGOC deputy director general for the Athletes' Village Arrey Perez, PSC deputy chief of operations and PHISGOC games services director Ed Clariza, and Asian Swimming Federation technical delegate Lani Velasco attended the said cement-pouring ceremonies.
"The first concrete pouring of the sports facilities marks the start of our journey to the 2019 Southeast Asian Games," said David.
David then bared that they are targeting an Oct. 15, 2019 completion, but he later said, "We are ahead of schedule."
Composing of a 20,000-seater track oval, a warm-up oval, and 2,000-seater aquatic center, the sports facilities is part of the 60-hectare National Government Administrative Center Phase 1A project.
