MANILA--Ryan Howe scored the winning try as the Philippine Volcanoes downed South Korea, 12-7, to start their Asia Rugby Sevens Series campaign in Hong Kong on Friday.
Howe's game-winner actually capped the Volcanoes' comeback bid after giving up a South Korean try earlier in the second half following a scoreless first half.
Joe Dawson quickly cancelled Jung Sol's opening try with one of his own while tying the game with a conversion.
Howe then broke away from the Korean defense for the winning try even as the Volcanoes' defense held on.
