Bacoor City dominates in 2nd half to oust GenSan

MANILA—Bacoor City formally punched a ticket to the MPBL Southern Division Semifinals after eliminating GenSan, 69-60, in Game 2 of their first round series at the Lamitan City Gymnasium on Monday night.

The Strikers took over in the second half, scoring 24 points in the third quarter before holding the Warriors to just eight points in the final frame to seal the win.

"Nung second half, tinaasan lang namin yung energy, we're not the most talented team in the league pero yung effort namin that counts twice e," said Oping Sumalinog, who led Bacoor City with 16 points, three rebounds, one steal, and four blocks.

Nick Demusis added 11 points and four rebounds for the Strikers, who became the first South team to enter the league quarterfinals.

Robby Celiz put up 22 markers, five boards, two dimes, two steals, and two blocks, while Daryl Goloran added 10 points, 10 caroms, one dime, one block, and one steal for GenSan.
