Terrafirma stuns SMB for 1st ever PBA playoff win

MANILA—Terrafirma scored its first-ever win in a PBA playoff series in style as they stunned San Miguel, 106-95, in their quarterfinal battle on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The Dyip, who needed to beat the NorthPort Batang Pier on Wednesday night to take the eighth seed, pulled away from the top-seeded Beermen after going on an 8-0 run midway through the fourth quarter before holding them off down the stretch.

Juami Tiongson led Terrafirma, which forced a sudden death showdown against SMB next Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, with 29 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Stephen Holt added 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Isaac Go chipped in 22 points, five rebounds, one assist, one block, and two steals.

Javi Gomez De Liano came close to a triple-double with 15 points 10 rebounds, and eight assists with two steals and one block.

June Mar Fajardo put up 21 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, and three steals, while CJ Perez added 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals for the Beermen, who overall have lost back-to-back games after starting the conference 10-0.
