MANILA--Although the weather is already improving following the ravage of Super Typhoon "Carina", the MPBL still decided to call off its scheduled Friday triple-header at the Olivarez College Coliseum in Parañaque.

Following an announcement on Thursday, the Abra Weavers would have to wait a little longer before they face the Parañaque Patriots.

The supposed headliner of the Friday fixtures would have been Mark Yee's first game against his former team which will also happen in the place he once called home.

The Vice Mayor Joan Villafuerte-owned franchise picked up Yee from the free agency before the start of the season following Bacoor City's decision to take a leave of absence despite winning the South Division title last year.

However, during the transfer window, he made the move to Abra just when Parañaque was having a solid start that made them become a playoff contender at least.

Also supposedly scheduled for Friday were games pitting Quezon City and Bicolandia in the first game and South Cotabato and erstwhile undefeated Quezon in the second game.

It is now the third straight triple-header the MPBL postponed after already calling off the Tuesday and Thursday schedules.

The regional league already scheduled to take Wednesday off even before Carina hit much of Luzon.

A Saturday triple-header is scheduled at the Calasiao Sports Complex with Pangasinan playing at home against Batangas City in the main game.

However, with Calasiao and the entire Pangasinan province still feeling the brunt of Carina even if the storm already made landfall in Taiwan, there is also uncertainty if the triple bill, which will also feature Bataan against Mindoro in the first game and Negros versus Binan in the second game, will push through or not.
