MAKATI - Smart Omega claims their fifth win of the MPL Philippines Season 14 regular season after a gritty 2-1 victory over Blacklist International on Friday.
It was a tight contest between the two sides, especially in Games 2 and 3, where both Omega and Blacklist traded blows.
The Barangay dominated Game 1 with a commanding 13-4 win over the Agents, led by Jomarie "JOWM" Pingol's Harith, who posted six kills and six assists. Andrew "Andoryuuu" Flora's Hayabusa delivered a flawless 6/0/2 KDA.
Blacklist bounced back in Game 2, thanks to John "Perkz" Sumawan's 1/3/9 KDA and two clutch multi-target sets with Lolita's Noumenon Blast during the late game.
Jhon Marl "Lord JM" Sebastian's Thamuz also had a strong showing, assisting in 11 of Blacklist's 12 kills, while Andoryuuu’s Julian grabbed four kills and two assists for Smart Omega.
In the decisive Game 3, it was JOWM's Moskov who made the difference for Smart Omega, securing four kills and two assists while creating space in the bottom lane, forcing Blacklist to defend.
Perkz’s Lolita contributed four assists, while Lord JM's Terizla tallied two kills and two assists.
With the win, Smart Omega improves to 5-3, holding onto fourth place, while Blacklist International drops to 1-7 as they start the second half of the season.
Smart Omega will face Aurora Gaming tomorrow to keep their momentum, while Blacklist International will attempt to upset league-leaders Fnatic ONIC PH on the same day.
